How it works

Nap started. Everyone knows.

  1. Tap when they drift off

Start sleep from your Watch, iPhone, Siri or Control Center. Forgot? Set the real start time afterwards.

  2. It counts everywhere

While the nap runs, a Live Activity shows it on the lock screen of every signed‑in caregiver's iPhone.

  3. Then it flips to awake

When the nap ends, your complication switches to time awake, so you can see the next nap coming.

A baby sleep log that answers the obvious questions.

How long did that nap go? How long have they been up? How did this week compare?

  • Asleep for, awake for

One number on your watch face that's always the one you need right now.

  • Where they slept

Crib, bassinet, contact nap, stroller or car seat, if you want to note it.

  • Live Activity

A running nap on every caregiver's iPhone lock screen, whoever started it.

  • Corrections

Fix a start or end time later. Dobbin keeps the original, so a correction is never a mystery.

  • Sleep trends

Total sleep, number of naps and the average nap across the day or week.

  • Night mode

Dark mode throughout, and the Watch screen stays black.

Why time awake matters as much as time asleep

Many parents plan naps around wake windows: how long a baby can comfortably stay awake between sleeps. Typical windows grow from under an hour for newborns to several hours for toddlers.

Dobbin shows awake time as it happens, so you can spot sleepy cues before they become overtired ones. For typical ranges by age, try the free wake window calculator.

FAQ

Sleep questions

Can I see how long my baby has been awake?

Yes. After a nap ends, Dobbin's sleep complication and Activity card count time awake until the next nap starts.

Does the nap timer show on my lock screen?

Yes. While a nap is running, a Live Activity shows it on the lock screen of every signed-in caregiver's iPhone.

Can I fix a nap I forgot to stop?

Yes. Edit the start or end time afterwards. The original times are kept alongside the correction.

Does Dobbin give sleep training advice?

No. Dobbin records sleep and shows patterns. It doesn't predict naps or give medical or sleep-training advice.
